The bonnet

The bonnet is a headache in itself.

First I was reluctant to disassemble the huge unit as it looked quite all right to me. But my buddy in the States persuaded me to do it if I want to do it properly with no regrets.

So I started and was soon frustrated. The nuts did not come off, many of the bolts were just shearing off. Lots of oil and other lubricant were used.
